THE SESSIONA Simply Joy portrait session with photographer Kelley Cook will be exactly that...simply joy! Her style of portraiture primarily utilizes available natural light and familiar surroundings to truly capture the beauty and personality of you, your child or your family. Keep in mind that occasionally, the need for a studio lit session may arise to enhance your photos. Kelley's relaxed style and experience working with children, both as a photographer and a certified K-8 educator will ensure a unique and enjoyable experience for both you and your child. She strives to not only capture the beauty of your child, but more importantly, his or her unique personality. The session will be unrushed, sometimes lasting up to two hours (three hours for newborns & seniors). This gives your child time to grow comfortable with the photographer, the situation, and the location, ensuring the capture of true-to-life, natural expressions that you will treasure and admire for a lifetime!PREPARATIONKelley will begin your custom experience with a pre-session consultation by phone to discuss the purpose of the session, clothing, location and your child's personality/preferences. Be sure to bring along any sentimental articles or toys that may enhance the session or make your child more comfortable, as well as snacks, drinks, change of clothes, and wet wipes. Most of all, make sure everyone gets plenty of rest the night before the session.LOCATION & POSINGThe location of your session, whether in your home, on location, or in studio, will be carefully selected to reflect the look and mood you desire. While Kelley tends to avoid traditional posing, she will at times guide you on where to sit, stand, etc. for a more flattering appearance. Kelley likes to "set the scene" and capture what happens...beautifully, naturally, simply. If your children are the focus of the portrait session, please be prepared to serve as a "prop", holding your child's hand, placing your hand on his or her shoulder, or just simply interacting with your child. During a newborn session, you may be asked to "top the baby off" as they tend to be more cooperative and calm on a full tummy.POST SESSIONAfter the session is complete, a date will be scheduled to view your proofs, order your prints and/or collection. The ordering session will be scheduled approximately two weeks post-session. Approximately two weeks after your order is placed, your portraits will be ready for pick up, however some items require up to 6 weeks.THE PORTRAITS Each print from Simply Joy Photography is created to be an heirloom portrait that will be cherished and treasured for generations! Portrait Collections starts $250.00. Canvas, artboard, and gallery wraps are also an option for larger prints. Should you find it hard to choose, you may opt to purchase the collection of your session images.
